Abstract:  Yunnan, Guangxi and six provinces in Vietnam serve as the frontier and key hubs for the joint construction of the Belt and
Road Initiative with the "Two Corridors and One Economic Circle" strategy. Accelerating the promotion of large-scale development in
the China-Vietnam border region through extensive opening-up is a crucial measure for implementing the spirit of General Secretary
Xi Jinping's remarks during his meeting with leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Joint Statement between the two
countries, as well as for advancing the "building of a strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future". Given
the current realities of port, industrial and urban development in the China-Vietnam border regions of Yunnan and Guangxi, border
ports face shortcomings in infrastructure, resource conversion and the scale of border trade, which have constrained the integrated
development of ports, industries and cities in these border areas. To foster new competitive edges for engagement with South and
Southeast Asia, we advance the integrated development of resource economy, border port economy and park economy to boost the
coordinated growth of border ports, industries and towns. This study puts forward suggestions for the high-quality development of
China's border ports with Vietnam in Yunnan and Guangxi.
